Assassin's Creed Introduces Unexpected AoT Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a surprising crossover event that breaks traditional expectations, Ubisoft has revealed an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Adventure Uncovered
According to the formal statement, "A mysterious encounter leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where hints of banned rituals and terrifying changes reverberate through the darkness." The storyline introduces a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her ally from a secret sect.
The mission focuses on "peculiar experiments and a terrifying adversary" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Iconic Locations and Changes
The preview features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview finishes with a striking sequence showing a character, probably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Prizes and Additional Content
Players who successfully complete the quest will acquire an unique katana alongside multiple artifacts secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-based costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Unique weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Latest Free Story Addition
This update also adds the game's third free story addition, titled "The Mystery." This playful adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap signature skills: Naoe reveals a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. True to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a new environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This marks hardly the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with famous anime properties. The series earlier showcased a 2020 crossover story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Moreover, Valhalla unofficially featured a quest that obviously referenced the popular series One-Punch Man.
